This gap is the lack or scarcity of good advice and information for the creation and operation of gaming clans. It is no secret that the majority of clans fail quickly and those that do survive struggle through periods of turmoil and strife as they learn what works and what does not. TribeHaven is based on the idea that gaming clans can start better if they have solid advice and experience to show them what works and what doesn’t. This philosophy of knowledge extends to existing clans as well, they can be made better with just a few ideas, tips, and concepts. Here there is no need to look at the different games teams play, or provide you with “news” related to those games. It is irrelevant in terms of the social and communication aspect of operating a clan, because clans are groups of people having a little fun and enjoying the game and the company. That basic idea of people and gaming extends throughout the gaming world and transcends the platform or game. My experience comes from years of gaming and clan participation around first person shooters. I have been in many clans, ran them and worked within under different levels of responsibility. I have worked at and created community sites for gaming factions and have played by myself on the servers provided by various clans. So by moving from one extreme to another I have witnessed a variety of mistakes, errors, and simple faulty philosophy. I have also witnessed a great many wonderful ideas and have seen clans do things in creative and unique ways. It is my hope that by providing some of the experience and philosophy I have acquired to these pages I can help a few teams to become more or start on the right foot. - Hedge |
